Terms of use

Written to be read rather than clicked past. What matters most is also on its own disclaimer page.

Version 2026-10-01.1 · Effective September 25, 2026

1. Who you are dealing with

Forced Arbitration is a service of Madgett Law, LLC, a Minnesota law firm. David J.S. Madgett, Minnesota Bar No. 390494, is responsible for its content. IDS Center, 80 South 8th Street, Suite 1650, Minneapolis, MN 55402. 612-470-6529.

Publishing this site is a communication about the firm's services under the Minnesota Rules of Professional Conduct. It is attorney advertising. It is not an offer to represent you, and it is not a promise that the firm will take any particular case. It is not a government agency, is not affiliated with the Minnesota Attorney General or any other government office, and is not a legal aid or public interest legal services organization.

2. No legal advice, no attorney-client relationship

This site is general information about arbitration clauses and public data about them. It is not legal advice about your situation, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship. Contacting Madgett Law, LLC through this site does not, by itself, make you a client. We represent you only if we both sign a written engagement agreement.

3. The report and its data

The report, its methodology page, and any data file this site makes available are published for public use, including by researchers, reporters, and other lawyers. You may quote, cite, and link to them with attribution to Madgett Law, LLC. You may not present the report's figures as your own work, alter a quotation attributed to a source document, or use the site's contents to suggest that Madgett Law, LLC has evaluated your particular situation.

4. Accuracy and corrections

Company contracts on this site are quoted word for word, either from a dated copy we fetched and recorded or from a court record. A copy we fetched came from the company’s own site, from a government agency’s website such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s credit card agreement database, or from a dated archival snapshot, and each document’s page in the clause database says which. Where the report quotes a company document from a court record, it names the case. Every figure comes from a named source. If you find an error, tell us. We will check it against the source, and if we got it wrong we will correct it, date the correction, and say what changed. See Corrections. We do not guarantee that a given clause remains unchanged after the date stated for it — businesses amend their contracts, and a captured document is a snapshot as of the date it says it is.

5. Acceptable use

Please do not overload this site or try to disrupt it. Do not present its contents as legal advice to anyone else.

6. Third-party sites

Links to courts, agencies, arbitration providers, and companies' own websites go to sites we do not control. A link is not an endorsement of this site by the linked site, or of the linked site by us.

7. No promises about results

We make no representation about how any court or arbitrator would resolve a dispute involving any clause discussed here.

8. Availability

This site is provided as-is and may change or be discontinued. We do not promise it will always be available.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Madgett Law, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing in them is intended to disclaim any obligation a law firm owes you separately.

10. Changes

These terms are versioned. When they change materially, the version number changes.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by Minnesota law.
